VSA Announces Exciting Improvements to REC/SFL

VSA ANNOUNCES EXCITING IMPROVEMENTS FOR REC/SFL PROGRAM

Haymarket, VA - With the Fall 2018 season kicking off this weekend, VSA is pleased to announce some exciting developments for our Recreation/SFL program.

Field Improvements

To start the Fall season, VSA has invested in 10+ sets of new goals for our Rec/SFL fields at Long Park.  These new goals have improved the quality of our fields and provides some visual consistency across the facility.

Steve Hoover, VSA’s Director of Recreation, had this to say about the improvements, “With the addition of new goals, Long Park is now one of the premier Recreation facilities in the county.  We are excited for our continued growth and will continue to move forward in our support for our coaches and players.”

VSA is committed to investing in our grassroots programs and these new goals are a great step forward to creating the best environment possible for our players.

Fall 2018 Recreation/SFL Goalkeeping program

This goalkeeper specific training program is designed for our Rec/SFL Goalkeepers to develop the technical and tactical skills needed to succeed on game day!

The program is led by VSA's Goalkeeping Staff who bring a wide range of coaching and playing experiencing from the youth level all the way to the professional level.  This program follows VSA's Goalkeeping Curriculum which has proven to consistently develop goalkeepers to the Development Academy, ECNL and Collegiate levels.

“In our continued efforts to improve the experience for our members, we are very excited to begin our Rec/SFL Goalkeeping program.  Over the past few years, we have received a lot of interest from our Rec/SFL players to expand our Goalkeeping program.  Our staff and I are extremely happy to say that we will be doing that this Fall,” said Dustin Butcher, VSA’s Director of Goalkeeping.  “This program gives our goalkeepers the opportunity to train once per week in a goalkeeping specific environment with qualified staff. Our hope is that this program will give all of the goalkeepers the confidence and tools they need to play their best on the weekend. ”

The program is set to begin on September 26 and will run through the Rec/SFL season.  Players interested in registering for the program must be registered with VSA’s Rec/SFL Fall 2018 season.  To register, CLICK HERE
